How to Enjoy Hoggetowne at Home

This year, the beloved Hoggetowne Medieval Faire is going virtual! But rest assured – while the event’s temporary venue may be high-tech, the shows, demonstrations and medieval goods for sale are as classic as ever. Just read on to learn how to celebrate this special event from the comfort of home.

Go theatrical

If you love dressing up at Hoggetowne, you can still enjoy that aspect of fun theatrics from the comfort of home! You can wear your medieval best and even show off your outfit virtually with friends and family who are attending the virtual festival, too.

Plan your virtual visit

Now that you’ve got your outfit prepped, plan the perfect environment for your virtual day at the faire! We love the idea of an outdoor setting – if you have room, you can string up lights in your backyard and enjoy the outdoor faire experience without really being there. You might even choose to project the day’s virtual festivities on a blank sheet or patio wall! You will find a full lineup of the festival fun (which concludes Feb. 6-7) here. Some exciting live events include demonstrations of classic storytelling set to harp music, history of the middle ages, a Renaissance tell-all and so many more.

Satisfy your medieval cravings

Part of what makes a day at the Faire so fun is being outdoors, surrounded by those irresistible, fresh flavors wafting through the air! All the medieval fun can certainly work up an appetite, but you don’t need to skip out on this element of the beloved festival. Simply cater your virtual event with the help of Peach Valley Café Gainesville! We have you covered with Orchard Fresh Apple Fritters and other delicious treats that are sure to satisfy as you make the trek through time to the old medieval days.

We hope that today’s guide helps you enjoy this time-honored Gainesville tradition to the fullest!
